What we collect, why we collect it, and how to get it removed.
Last updated July 30, 2026
The Pilates University (“TPU”, “we”) runs this website, the TPU Online member network, and the TPU iOS app. This policy covers all three. If anything here is unclear, email mack@thepilatesuniversity.com and we will answer you directly.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our servers and we cannot see it. We store only what we need to run your membership: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, and its status.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
We use these providers to run the service. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members.
If you make your profile visible, other signed-in members can see your display name, photo, bio, city, home studio, experience, certifications, specialties, availability, and any social links you added. They cannot see your email address, phone number, billing details, or what you have paid for. You can hide your profile at any time from your profile settings.
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from My Profile in the member area or the app. Deleting your account cancels your membership billing immediately and erases your profile, posts, comments, and saved details.
One exception: registrations for workshops, events, and certification programs you have already paid for are kept, with your name and contact details removed. We need an accurate record of what was sold and how many people are attending. If you would rather we erase those too, email us and we will.
We keep your account information while your account exists. Payment records are retained as long as tax and accounting rules require, typically seven years. Usage data is kept for up to two years. Reports about content or conduct are kept so we can recognise repeat problems, even after the content itself is removed.
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to certain processing or to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Email mack@thepilatesuniversity.com and we will respond within 30 days.
TPU is built for Pilates instructors and adult students. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with the providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit who can reach your information and use service-level credentials rather than exposing the database publicly.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you by email if the change is significant.
